On the evening of Friday, March 29, the council hosted one of the annual Lenten Soup Suppers. Three varieties of meatless soups were offered (vegetable, lentil vegetable, and borscht) along with an assortment of breads. We raised $147 for CRS Rice Bowl through donations.
On St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday March 17, the council presented a custom-made flag with the new parish logo during 10am services. This is in addition to the purchase of replacements for the state and national flags outside the church entrance.
The major relic of St. Jean Vianney’s whole, incorrupt heart is coming to Washington! It will be available from March 7 until March 9 at sites in both Spokane and Seattle.
On Thursday, March 7, the relic will be available for veneration at Bishop White Seminary, 429 E. Sharp Avenue, Spokane, WA 99202, from 2 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Bishop Thomas Daly will celebrate Mass at 5:15 p.m.
On Friday, March 8, the relic will be available at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA, 99201, from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
On Saturday, March 9, the relic will be available at St. Benedict Parish, 1805 N 49th St, Seattle, WA 98103, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg will celebrate Mass at 9 a.m., and confessions will be available throughout the day.
The Knights of Columbus is organizing this “Heart of a Priest” relic pilgrimage honoring the patron of parish priests, whose holiness and integrity is a model for clergy and laity alike. We hope as many Knights and their families as possible will be able to venerate this relic.
